Mid-Year Momentum Boost: Tips to Realign, Refocus & Reignite Your Business for the Rest of 2025

We’re officially halfway through 2025—they say time flies when you are having fun?

Back in January, many of us made Big Hairy Audacious Goals (BHAG): new goals, fresh strategies, updated budgets. Maybe you mapped out your monthly, quarterly, and annual targets like I did. Created white boards with arrows and flow charts. But now that July is knocking, it’s time for a real check-in with yourself and your business. Did we do what we set out to do?

Here’s the truth: I’m both proud and a little anxious. There’s progress I can celebrate and some areas where I’m behind. And that’s okay. This check-in isn’t about beating ourselves up (we a human). We all have distractions that were not part of our plans (life and everything that comes with it). It’s about taking stock and giving ourselves the gift of clarity and grace so we can course-correct with intention.

Here are a few areas I’m reviewing—and some tips that may help you do the same:

(1) Financial Fitness: Get Your House in Order

This one’s not sexy, but it’s critical. Here’s what I’ve been doing:

  • Balancing all business accounts monthly with my accounting team
  • Reviewing my Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet monthly
  • Transitioned from a SEP IRA to a Solo 401(k) for better tax strategy
  • Clarified revenue goals and tied them to measurable business development efforts

Tip: If your books are behind, block out 2–3 power sessions this month to get them in order. Future-you (and your tax advisor) will thank you.

(2) Social Media Strategy: Your Voice = Your Brand

I’ve been refining how I show up as both Sarah the entrepreneur and Sarah the personal brand. The goal? Consistency without confusion.

Tip: You don’t need to post daily. Pick 1–2 themes per week, rotate content types, and focus on being clear, not just visible.

(3) Mindset Shift: Let Go of What You Didn’t Do

Didn’t hit every goal? You’re not alone. Instead of dwelling, refine.

  • Reset goals to fit the reality of Q3 and Q4.
  • Adjust your budget if revenue is higher—or lower—than expected.
  • Drop what no longer serves your business or brings joy.

Tip: Your Q1 goals aren’t a failure—they were a forecast. Use what you’ve learned to improve the next six months.

(4) Make a Plan: Rebuild with the Rest of the Year in Mind

Now that you’ve taken stock of where things stand, it’s time to map out where you’re headed. A vague intention to “do better” won’t get you to the finish line—clarity and structure will.

  • Revisit your calendar: What key milestones are ahead?
  • Break goals down into monthly or bi-weekly actions.
  • Block time for both strategy and recovery—burnout doesn’t build businesses
  • Make space for flexibility while committing to consistency.

Tip: Download a quarterly or monthly planner (paper or digital—whatever works for you) and plot out the rest of the year. Build in buffer time, revisit often, and treat your plan as a living document. If you are looking for one, I’ve been using the one I created, the Success Simplified Small Business Planner, like a pro!

(5) Tap Back Into Your Why
When the to-do list is long and the wins feel far away, it’s easy to forget what you’re really building toward. That’s why now is the perfect time to pause and remember YOUR why.

For me, it’s about legacy and time freedom—building something that lasts where you  take control of your schedule to do what you want (within reason). It’s about creating opportunities, showing up for my clients, and pouring back into the communities that poured into me. When I’m done with that, it’s time to unwind, reset, and recharge. That’s what keeps me going when things get tough.

Tip: Take a few minutes this week to write down your “why” and keep it somewhere visible—on a sticky note, in your planner, wherever you see it. Let it bring you back to center when things start to feel off.

No matter how the first half of the year went, the second half is yours to shape. Give yourself permission to reset, refine, and recommit—with clarity and intention. You don’t have to do it all at once, and you don’t have to do it perfectly. Just start where you are, use what you have, and keep moving forward.

How am I going to do this? A mid-year planning retreat with my team to regroup, realign, and map out our next steps. Because momentum doesn’t just happen—we create it.

Now it’s your turn. What’s one thing you can do this month to reset and move forward with intention? Whatever it is, start there.
